Downtown Lunch and Learn | The History of the Mikvah

According to the sages, every Jewish community should construct a mikvah – a
ritual bath – even before constructing a synagogue. We will explore why the
mikvah has been so important throughout Jewish history, as well as its role in
contemporary Judaism. Learn why people immerse in the mikvah, what the ritual
entails, and how the “living waters” of the mikvah can be incorporated into
our lives as Reform Jews in the 21st century.
