Lives Of Tavernkeeping Jews In 18th And 19th Century Poland

This week on the Jewish Drinking show, Rabbi Drew welcomes Professor Glenn Dynner to discuss Jewish tavernkeepers in 18th—and 19th-century Poland.

Professor Dynner currently serves as Director of the Bennett Center for Jewish Studies and Chair of Judaic Studies at Fairfield University. He previously taught at Sarah Lawrence College, received a 2019-2020 Guggenheim fellowship, and received his PhD from Brandeis University in Jewish Studies. He is the author of Yankel’s Tavern: Jews, Liquor, and Life in the Kingdom of Poland.
