Vashti’s Banquet with Adath Israel’s Sisterhood

Adath Israel Sisterhood welcomes all women in our Jewish community to Vashti’s
Banquet.

We will come together for Persian inspired dairy dinner, catered by Mikey
Frank.

The theme of the event is celebrating Jewish women through the ages. There
will be a looping video with over 30 biblical and historic female figures that
made an impact on their world and ours.

We will explore specifically feminine head coverings as Rabbi Jessica Shafrin
introduces “Reclaiming Ritual, Women and Head Covering”. We will then have an
opportunity to discuss this ritual, or get creative and paint Miriam’s Cups
for our Sederim, or just hang out with new friends and old.

The program will close when we all come together in song, led by Rebecca
Axelrod, Ritual Director of Adath Israel.
