Tuesdays with Torah | From Medieval to Modern: Jewish Life in Transition
Presented by: Courtney Anthony
This series surveys Jewish life in Europe during the 14th to 17th centuries—a
time of upheaval and transformation as the medieval world gave way to the
early modern era. From the devastation of the Black Death, the Inquisition,
and the Expulsion from Spain to the opportunities brought by the printing
press, the Reformation, and global exploration, we’ll explore how Jews
endured, adapted, and preserved their culture. This course continues themes
from A Jewish Perspective on Jesus and Constantine’s Sword, but is fully
accessible to newcomers—no prior knowledge required.
