UC Student’s Complaint “Resolved” by University

In December 2025, a University of Cincinnati student submitted a complaint to the Provost after a guest lecturer in their History of Design class spent the majority of their time giving a pro-Palestine lecture and made several borderline antisemitic statements.

According to a message the student and their family received from the Provost’s ethics board, the faculty member was reminded of “relevant university policies.”

“We have completed our inquiry and have counseled the faculty member on the issue and reminded him of relevant university policies. Thank you for bringing this matter to the University’s attention. The matter is now closed.”

The message did not specify which relevant policies were raised with the professor who invited the guest lecturer.

The complaint was filed by the student as a violation of section G of the University’s intellectual diversity policy.

As of this publishing, we have not received a comment from the University of Cincinnati.
