Believe it or not the High Holidays are just a month away! Cincinnati offers a diverse array of services and events for the High Holidays. Whether you’re interested in a traditional/orthodox service, reform, humanist, or looking for a place for the college student in your life, we’ve got you covered.

This year, Rosh Hashanah begins on the evening of September 22, and Yom Kippur begins sundown on October 1. 

Reform

Rockdale Temple looks forward to welcoming you throughout the High Holy Day season! Our warm, welcoming Reform congregation provides opportunities for all ages to worship, learn, and gather. Services are offered in-person with an online streaming option – no tickets are needed and all are welcome. Service times and information for Rosh HaShanah and Yom Kippur are available on our website. Join us for evening services at 8pm, morning services at 10am, a full day of Yom Kippur prayer and learning, and special prayer and learning experiences for both families with young children (infants – 1st graders) and grade school kids (2nd – 6th graders). At this sacred season and all year round, our congregation emphasizes lifelong learning, uplifting worship experiences, and acts of lovingkindness. Temple Sholom welcomes seekers, multifaith families, and those searching for a spiritual home for this High Holy Day season. Reservations or tickets are not needed for both online and in-person worship opportunities. Are you looking for a spiritual social action project? A community Rosh Hashanah lunch? The Valley Temple is a Reform synagogue in Wyoming, Ohio, deeply committed to refreshingly positive Jewish experiences. We offer a variety of opportunities during the High Holy Days. A highlight is our widely attended ROSH HASHANAH MUSICAL EXPERIENCE at the 20th Century Theater in Oakley on Monday, September 22nd at 6:00 p.m. This innovative service is open to anyone – no need to be a member of The Valley Temple or have a ticket! The service features our Friday Night Live band and is a wonderful way to kick off the High Holy Day Season in a warm and energetic way. We also offer traditional Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur services at The Valley Temple, as well as family and tot services designed to meet your family’s specific needs.  Wise Temple Isaac M. Wise Temple offers services and special events throughout the High Holy Days at both Wise Center in Amberley and at the historic Plum Street Temple in downtown Cincinnati. While many Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur events are limited to Wise Temple members, non-members with young families are invited to register for our Young Families (YoFI) services. In addition, free High Holy Days tickets are provided upon request to prospective members and any young adult, 34 and under. Conservative

Adath Israel is a Kehilah Kedoshah, a Conservative Jewish community that supports congregants during significant life events and their journeys to become more involved, knowledgeable, and spiritually fulfilled Jews. Our egalitarian High Holiday services are led by Rabbi Scott Shafrin, our Cantor, Mitch Cohen, and our High Holiday Choir.  Congregation Etz Chaim in Sycamore Township is an egalitarian participatory Synagogue where everyone is welcome and you instantly become family upon arrival. Nonjudgmental, no-ticket services will be held at 8100 Cornell Road, featuring Hazzan Don Stolper. Erev Rosh Hashanah on Monday, September 22, at 6 p.m. The first day of Rosh Hashanah, Tuesday, September 23, 8:45 a.m. with Mincha/Maariv at 6:00 pm. Second day of Rosh Hashanah, Wednesday, September 24, 8:45 a.m., with Day II luncheon to follow. Kol Nidre, Wednesday, October 1 at 6:30 pm with cellist and moving Service. Thursday, October 2, Yom Kippur starts at 9 a.m., Yizkor approximately 11:45 am. Northern Hills Synagogue is an inclusive community affiliated with the USCJ in the northern Cincinnati suburbs. We are excited to welcome all levels of observance and participation. Our services are led by Rabbi Noah Ferro and many congregational lay leaders. We will have multiple opportunities to learn from Rabbi Ferro and Rabbi Sam Schapera, our associate rabbi. Traditional/Orthodox

Sha’arei Torah is a Modern Orthodox congregation in Amberley Village. There is no cost, no membership or RSVP necessary to attend our services – feel free to come as you are! Rosh HaShanah morning services begin at 8:30 AM (on both 9/16 and 9/17), ending at approximately 1:00 PM. Yom Kippur morning services begin at 9:00 a.m. and end at approximately 2:30 p.m. Babysitting is provided throughout the length of services, with youth groups for ages 3-11 taking place during that time as well. Chabad

The Jewish Discovery Center, your destination for joyful Jewish experiences, is conveniently located in Mason. It is a warm and welcoming home for all Jews, regardless of affiliation, level of observance or experience. Services are designed to be both enjoyable and meaningful, accompanied by stories, inspiration, insights, and melodies, in a friendly and personal atmosphere. Simultaneous Children Program and Youth Services are available. Also, High Holiday for Dummies study series, Pre-Holiday Fair for Families, Rosh Hashanah Communal Dinner, and Tashlich services offered. Unable to join synagogue services? Humanist

Congregation Beth Adam serves a contemporary and diverse Jewish community. Established in 1980, Congregation Beth Adam is Greater Cincinnati’s only congregation practicing Judaism with a Humanistic perspective. We celebrate Jewish holidays and lifecycle events, value education, creativity, and critical thinking at all ages, and strive to be a supportive community. We affirm a moral commitment to human dignity and ethical behavior. Student

 Cincinnati Hillel serves as the vibrant epicenter of Jewish university life in Greater Cincinnati, providing a welcoming “home away from home” for Jewish college students. Offering a blend of camp-style services alongside Reform-Conservative liturgy, Cincinnati Hillel will host services for university students on the first evening and morning of Rosh HaShanah, as well as Kol Nidrei services for Yom Kippur, along with morning services and afternoon/evening services. Chabad at UC has been connecting Jewish students of all backgrounds with their heritage and traditions since 2006, providing a home away from home with great food, fun and social events, trips, classes and much more! Located just yards from campus, Chabad is run by Rabbi Yitz and Dina Creeger who live right next door in order to simply be present around the clock for Jewish students and their families. Community members and hospital patient families are also welcome. Rosh Hashana and Yom Kippur services and meals require RSVP, but have no charge. We will be hosting both evening and daytime meals, Tashlich, Shofar service at various times and places around town, and full Yom Kippur service with stories, insights, discussion, and pre- and post-fast meals. Chabad at Miami University is a warm and welcoming home for students, alumni, and the greater Oxford Jewish community. We’ll be hosting Rosh Hashanah services and festive meals, as well as Yom Kippur services and a community Break-the-Fast.
