In the wake of two violent attacks targeting the Jewish community- the fatal shooting of two Jews in Washington DC, and the firebombing of a hostage rally in Boulder, Colo., Rep Greg Landsman (D) has taken to national media to speak out about the growing threat antisemitism poses to the American Jewish community. Landsman spoke with Dana Bash and Jake Tapper on CNN.
Antisemitism, which had been rising even before Hamas attacked Israel on Oct. 7, 2023, has skyrocketed over the past two years, breaking records in the US. Landsman has faced some of that antisemitism during his time in office, when antisemitic vandals attempted to graffiti his office, and protestors set up outside of his home on the anniversary of the Oct. 7th terrorist attacks, when Hamas invaded Israel, killing 1200 people and taking 250 hostages.
