Shining Lights in the Darkness: Cincy Jewfolk Holiday Special

As the modern Jewish philosopher Adam Sandler said in his famous tome on the holiday, “Chanukah is the festival of lights.” And many of those lights are the people who make up our Jewish world. Sandler goes on to list the enumerable number of celebrities who are members of the Tribe who helped light up the entertainment industry and the world.

The Jewish world has needed those lights in the darkness over two dark years with no end in sight. On Chanukah, we are commanded to light our menorah publicly to celebrate the miracle of Chanukah and the triumph of light over darkness.

That is why this year, Cincy Jewfolk wants to share with y’all the Cincy Jewfolk Profiles of Chanukah. We will highlight several members, organizations, and businesses that help light up Cincinnati. We will share four featured stories with y’all, whether they are a Rabbi, the CEO of a mental health organization, working to save the environment, or the carriers of highly specific family traditions. These folks are some of the people who help light up our city.

Enjoy our Chanukah special! And if you know someone you think we should profile in the future, please submit them to [email protected]

Happy Chanukah!
