DESCRIPTION:_Jewish Values & the Israeli–Palestinian Conflict_ is an 8-session Sunday\nmorning learning series rooted in curriculum from the Shalom Hartman\nInstitute. For decades\, Israel served as a unifying symbol across the global\nJewish community—but in recent years\, and especially following the events of\nOctober 7\, 2023\, it has become a source of pain\, tension\, and deep\ndisagreement. \nThis course aims to foster a renewed sense of shared peoplehood by exploring\nthe values that shape diverse Jewish perspectives on Israel and the\nIsraeli–Palestinian conflict. Together\, we will engage with themes such as\njustice\, security\, dignity\, peoplehood\, and peace. Rather than advocating a\nsingle political stance\, we will cultivate space for respectful dialogue\,\nstrengthening our ability to learn from one another\, stay connected across\ndifferences\, and hold complexity with honesty and care. \n**Registration requested. We are aware of how\npolarized our country is: Democrats\, Republicans\, and Independents seemingly\nlive in separate and divided worlds. Political disagreements aren’t wrong\, in\nfact\, this is an important part of a healthy democracy. The difference in our\ncurrent situation is that the political divisions are limiting our ability to\nfunction effectively as a country and straining relationships. A Pew Research\nStudy in October 2019 found an overwhelming majority of respondents wanted\nless divisiveness and more cooperation.
