Tuesdays with Torah | The December Dilemma: Being Jewish During “Christmas Season”
Presented by: Rabbi Zachary Goodman
Cue the lights, the music, and the shopping mall Santas—it’s the most
wonderful time of the year… for many. But for Jews, December can be a complex
season of identity, belonging, and boundary-setting. This three-part class
explores the “December Dilemma” in depth: historically, spiritually, and
communally. Together, we’ll examine how American Jews have navigated Christmas
culture over the decades, discuss Chanukah’s evolving place in the public
square, and explore how we might respond to this season with authenticity,
confidence, and Jewish joy.
